David Little selected to present at Smallworld 2006 Americas Users Conference

GeoSpatial Innovations, Inc. is pleased to announce that David Little has been selected to present at the Smallworld 2006 Americas Users Conference in Denver, Colorado.

Gas Distribution Office Applications Integrated with GPS Field Collection

Advances in Smallworld Core Spatial Technology* 4 architecture facilitate efficient and effective methods for managing, collecting and incorporating data within the GIS. A key example of these improvements is the integration of GPS field collection software providing real-time data collection, attribution and verification of existing GIS facilities. This presentation will demonstrate multiple scenarios using the Smallworld Gas Distribution Office 4 (GDO) applications to identify and assign Smallworld GIS data to field users without ever leaving the GDO environment. Using subfoot (30 cm) GPS handheld devices field users can navigate to existing GIS facilities, update the current mapped location, modify existing attribute data and add new or missing facility data. After synchronizing the mobile device, field modifications are available for QA/QC and posting by office technicians completing a paperless round-trip workflow process.
